Governor of Zamfara State Bello Matawalle has finally defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC).
On Tuesday, the governor defected at a rally organized for the Zamfara governor in Gusau.
Mai Bala Buni, governor of Yobe and Chairman of the APC caretaker committee presented Matawalle with the APC flag.
Matawalle expressed excitement on being received by the party members into the party. He called on all to cooperate in order to develop the state.
“As from today, I, Bello Matawallen Maradun, governor of Zamfara, am happy to announce my defection from the PDP to the APC. As from today, I am a full APC member and leader of APC in Zamfara,” he said.
“I am calling on all APC stakeholders in the state to join hands with me to build the party and move the state forward,” he stated.
Nasir el-Rufai, Yahaya Bello, and Abdullahi Ganduje were all present at the rally.
