“The doctor did nothing wrong” Junior Doctors release statement concerning Manhyia Hospital saga

The controversy surrounding the father who rudely approached a nurse for intimidating his daughter {Doctor} seems to be gaining grounds. The father of the doctor who had a heated conversation with a nurse was protected by the Junior Doctors’ Association of Ghana.

The doctor’s father, Alex Opoku-Mensah, is heard insulting the nurse in the leaked audio.On November 29, the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMAAshanti )’s Region chapter demanded Mr. Opoku-resignation.
He afterwards expressed regret.

Junior doctors claim that the doctor did nothing improper.
In a statement released on Tuesday, it was said that “although we do not support the father’s conduct, it is necessary to correct the record regarding the deception being peddled to discredit the doctor’s professional competence.”

The statement, which was jointly signed by Ghana’s Dr. Louisa A. Nkrumah, president of the Junior Doctors’ Association, and Dr. Norbert Kipo, secretary, stated that the information circulated about the doctor and her alleged incorrect prescription “is untrue, according to the hospital management and records available.”
“We therefore implore all media outlets to halt their coverage of the alleged incorrect prescription of medicine and implore the general public to ignore such charges against the doctor,” the statement reads.

According to the statement, there has been a good working relationship between the medical staff and the nursing staff, and “we will continue to work as a team to offer quality healthcare to our valued customers and the people of Ghana
