Finance Minister ‘Ken Ofori Atta’ Secures $28 Million Loan Agreement To Buy Cars For MPs

Latest information picked up by Pinaxnews.com indicates that the Minister for Finance, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta, has presented a credit agreement for $28 million to Parliament for the acquisition of 275 vehicles for parliamentarians from the eighth Parliament.

As indicated by the papers introduced to Parliament, the advance will be sourced from the National Investment Bank, NIB.

In light of the sum and the number of people included, every MP is required to get more than $100,000 for the acquisition of a vehicle.

The Finance Committee of the House is required to think about the advance understanding and report to the house.

In the mean time, Parliament on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, likewise approved $200 million extra assets from the World Bank for Ghana’s COVID-19 response program.
