FIFA And CAF Postpones Guinea vs. Morocco 2022 World Cup Qualifiers Match Following Coup d’état In Guinea

CAF, Africa’s football administering body, has deferred the FIFA 2022 qualifying match between The National Elephants of Guinea and the Atlas Lions of Morocco following the rebellion that happened on Sunday, September 5 in Guinea.

As per CAF the match will occur on a yet to be declared date. The game was supposed to happen on Monday, September 6, 2021, nonetheless, it has been moved to a yet to be declared date because of safety issues in Conakry, where gunfire has been heard after the coup d’état endeavor.

A statement of the CAF website reads;

”The current political and security situation in Guinea is quite volatile and is being closely monitored by FIFA and CAF.

To ensure the safety and security of all players and to protect all match officials, FIFA and CAF have decided to pospone the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifying match Guinea vs. Morocco, which had scheduled to be hosted in Conakry, Guinea, on Monday 6, September.

Rescheduling information will be made available at a later date.”

Meanwhile, latest report picked up by Pinaxnews.com indicates that legendary Brazilian footballer, Pele has gone through a medical procedure to eliminate a growth from his right colon last Saturday.

The information on the medical procedure was made by means of his online media account on Monday September 6,2021. Pele who is currently 80-year-old is recuperating admirably in the ICU following the removal of the tumor, as per his primary care physicians at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein in São Paulo.

During one of the cardiovascular and lab tests, specialists had tracked down a dubious sore in his right colon, which was found to be a growth, said Dr. Fabio Narsi and Dr. Miguel Cendoroglo Neto in a proclamation. Prior on Monday, Pele’s business director Joe Fraga said there was no reason for concern.
