Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje has asked all contestants who are eyeing the APC executive council position to undergo a mandatory test.
Recall that early this year thirteen aspirants of the councilor position tested positive for hard drugs.
According to the governor all contestants are to report to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in the state for screening as early as 7:00 am.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba on Wednesday in Kano the directive was contained in it.
The governor noted that no contestant will be screened without undergoing the mandatory drug test.
“Similar tests were carried out for contestants into local government election, as well as political appointees including members of the state executive council before offering them a portfolio,” a part of the statement read.
