The function of the National Health Insurance card will be transferred to the Ghana card at the end of the year which means that it will fade out to give way for the Ghana card.
The National Health Insurance card is a card which almost half the population of Ghana have registered onto and it enables them to access health care freely to an extent in public health centers.
Due to the pending transition the National Health Insurance Authority has strengthened its public education on the upcoming transition in order to make the exercise stress free.
At the authority’s mid-year review meeting in Kumasi on Friday 17th September the Ashanti Regional Director of the NHIA made the revelation.
