21-Year-Old Young Man Charged To Court After Chelsea FC Reported Racist Tweets Posted In Late 2020

Latest report picked up from the world of football indicates that a 21-year-old young man has been charged after Chelsea FC reported racist and hostile to Semitic tweets.

The young man who has since been identified as Nathan Blagg, from Retford, Nottinghamshire, is blamed for seven counts of sending hostile messages by open the use of public communication network. It is asserted that he sent the messages between February 5 2020 and February 3 2021.

Blagg was captured in February this year by officials from the Metropolitan Police Central Football Unit, and charged by postal demand. As per reports, Blagg will show up at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 8.

This is what Chelsea FC had to say at the time of his arrest;

”We welcome today’s arrest which shows that hateful messages shared on social media do have consequences. We continue to work closely with the police to support their investigations on this important issue.”

Inspector Matt Ashmead from the Met Police’s Central Football Unit also had this to say;

”This action proves that the internet is no safe refuge for troll to target people with hateful, offensive or racist abuse.” Online abuse is not victimless and we will look to identify this responsible and take action.”
