Yaw Kwakye, a hunter has allegedly been shot dead at Nweneso no 1 in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
The incident has shocked residents in the area as well as colleague hunters who fear about what the future holds.
The person who shot the hunter dead is yet to be identified by some residents suspect friends of the deceased to be behind the shooting.
According to the Assemblyman of Nweneso no 1 electoral area, Kwame Atenka who broke the news on Pure FM, he noted that he heard a gunshot in the nearby bush and when he got there he found the lifeless body of Yaw Kwakye lying down.
”We heard a gun shot in a bush but when we went there we found the lifeless body of Yaw Kwakye. Yaw Kwakye was a palm wine tapper, farmer and hunter. He went to his friends to collect his equipment in a bush but what we heard was a gunshot.
He noted that he doesn’t know whether he was shot by his friends or he shot himself.
