The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has finally disclosed why the former President John Mahama and the NDC accept the verdict of the court on the 2020 general election petition.
According to him the NDC did not accept the court’s verdict not because it thought justice has been served but to save the democracy of the country.
“We did our part as a country to resolve some of the problems. We made it known to the whole world that we are accepting to work with the outcomes of the court processes not because we think there has been justice.
“But we think we have to save the democracy and improve upon what we have” he stated.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday 24th August 2021, Mr. Asiedu noted that its not new that all is not well with Ghana’s elections.
He added that the 2020 election has been one of the worse elections in Ghana.
