The former President of Ghana and the Presidential candidate of the NDC in the 2020 election has said that the NDC members of Parliament are doing well in Parliament.
He made this comment when he visited the Paramount Chief of Gambaga, Gamba-Ran Yahaya Wuni and his Imams as part of his thank you tour.
Speaking to the Chief and his Imams, Mr. Mahama said Ghana has a hanging Parliament now because of the number of Parliamentarians the NDC had in the 2020 elections.
“Because of the number we got in parliamentary elections, we have what they call a hang parliament – 137, they also have 137.
He also explained that the speaker of Parliament fortunately was elected from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“By the grace of God when we went to Parliament and we had to elect the speaker, the speaker was elected from the NDC party.
He added that; “This is the first time it has happened in the history of Ghana and so it is a plus for our democracy and our MPs are doing well so far.”
