No One Will Die Because Lecturers Are On Strike-Prof Gyampo Tells Students

Newly elected Secretary of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) Prof. Ransford Gyampo has said that their strikes usually do not lead to deaths unlike that of health workers.

Professor Gyampo also stressed on the UTAG’s call on the President of Ghana to end their strike by intervening with its issues with the National Labour Commission (NLC).

Prof. Gyampo who appeared on the Good Evening Ghana showed aired on Metro TV and hosted by Paul Adom Otchere told students to rest easy because their academic year can always be reset for them.

”Those of you students who want to become lecturers, if you become lecturers, things will be fine for you and soo we are pleading with you”.

”You see when doctors go on strike, people die but when lecturers go on strike you won’t die. We would always be able to reschedule your academic calendar and academic timetable and then we will teach you”.

”So you won’t die”, he stated while reacting to a viewer who pleaded with UTAG to reconsider their strike.

Meanwhile, Professor Ransford Gyampo praised the Ghanaian youth for embarking on a peaceful, orderly #fixthecountry demonstration which came off on 4th August 2021.
