Rebecca Akufo-Addo’s Rejection Of Allowances Is ”Alo” – Ghanaian Journalist Gary Al-Smith Boldly Reveals

Pinaxnews.com earlier reported that following the enormous public backfire, the First Lady has chosen to return all monies paid to her by the state since 2017.

Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo served notice she is getting back to the public authority a whopping amount GHC899, 097.84 paid to her as stipends since 2017 after some Ghanaians disagreed over a choice to pay her and Samira Bawumia who equally doubles as the second lady of mother Ghana.

In an articulation endorsed by the Director of Communications at the Office of the First Lady on Monday, July 12, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo boldly stated that she didn’t demand to be paid any allowance.

Well, reports gathered by Pinaxnews.com indicates that the First Lady of mother Ghana ”Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo has officially refunded back all allowances paid her dating back to 2017.

With cheque number of 00002, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo returned every dime paid to her into the Ghana Consolidated Bank.

Well, Ghanaian Sports journalist, Gary Al-Smith has taken to his official Facebook page to react to Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo returning all allowances paid to her dating back to 2017.

As per the journalist, he is thrilled she actually did the refund adding that it is indeed a good start in the way and manner in which she did it. This is what he had to say;

”If you’ve been on this page for a while, you’d know I have a very soft spot for the First Lady because of the work she does, especially in healthcare. Never met her, but a very big fan of her work. Really thrilled she did this refund. Yes, it may be alo, but she refunded it in the end. And that’s a good enough start for me. Well done and thank you for the open way in which you did it, Ma. (I don’t know if other former First Ladies will follow suit, but that will also not be bad.)”
