A 37-year-old man has allegedly shot himself to death after shooting his 28-year-old ex-wife, Abena Agatha at Akyem Hweakwae in Birim North District in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
News gathered is that the incident occurred on Thursday 8th July and on that particular day at around 10:00 am, the 37-year-old man invited Abena Agatha to his room under false pretense.
The man was said to have pulled a single barrel gun and shot his ex-wife at close range on the chest and shot himself too to death after killing Abena Agatha.
Speaking to Starr News, the PRO of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh stated that the police were told about the unfortunate incident at about 11:20 am that same day and the police were deployed there.
According to the PRO when the police got there they found two dead bodies lying in a pool of blood.
He said the bodies were conveyed to the Abirim government hospital and they were formally declared dead.
After they were declared dead he says the bodies were moved to Mamaso Community Hospital morgue.
As part of investigation the single barrel gun will be sent for ballistic examination.
