Nana Addo Managed The Economy Badly before Covid-19-Malik Basintale

The Savannah Regional Communications Director of the oppositional National Democratic Congress (NDC) Malik Basitale has said that Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo managed poorly the economy of Ghana before coronavirus hit the country.

He noted that the constant borrowing of money from the western world was gradually crawling the state into economic crisis.

”Before COVID-19 President Nana Addo had borrowed more than $160 billion under his administration”, he stated.

Mr. Basintale asked Ghanaian youths to be politically vigilant and hold their leaders accountable for their actions and inactions.

He stressed that there is a need for the youth to hold leaders accountable for their stewardship because whatever decision they take today will after the country in future so its best to do so while they are still in power.

Speaking with Berla Mundi in an interview on the New Day show on Wednesday he noted that the current insecurity an economic hardship under the watch of Nana Akufo-Addo compelled the youth wing of the NDC to stage the demonstration the nation saw on Tuesday 6th July.

If I bring the post COVID-19 economics into this matter, then you will realize that we are going nowhere than a ditch because before the coronavirus pandemic, the President rented a private jet for more than £15,000 per hour and was taking his shower in the sky, that’s post COVID-19 economics”, he stated.
