The Ghana Health Service has announced that the Achimota Senior High School has recorded 135 cases of new Delta Variant.
The 135 cases emerged from over 500 samples that were previously tested at the Achimota School.
”We had a significant number of the earlier samples testing we did at Achimota School as Delta variant”, Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Patrick Kuma Aboagye stated.
At a press conference held in Accra, Dr. Aboagye stated that 46 of the cases that was recorded will be treated and fortunately 89 patients have recovered.
The Director-General stressed that at the time of diagnosis all the 135 cases were either asymptomatic or had very mild to moderate illness.
Meanwhile Ghana’s Information Minister announced the presence of the Delta variant in a community with Ghana.
