16-year-old boy identified as Eric Bonsu has drowned in River Pra at Sefwi Besibema, a farming community in Akontombra District on Sunday 30th May 2021.

He was said to have gone to the river with some friends on Sunday at around 9:00 a.m. to swim but while swimming he friends realized he was getting drowned so they informed the father of the boy Eric Atta who tried to save his son. Unfortunately he couldn’t because his son had gone deep into the river.
Elders of the town performed some rites and were able to take him out of the river later on.
According to Angel FM’s correspondent, the assembly member of the town lamented on the stubborn nature of many of the kids of the town who do not listen to his orders not to swim in the river.
