A 51-year-old mentally unstable man identified as Osman Nasir is reported to have drowned in the Volta river in Atimpoku in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He was said to have gone missing on July 11, 2021 but sadly his was found dead on the shores of the river on 14th July 2021. A joint team of police, NADMO and Environmental Officers retrieved his body and deposited at the morgue for autopsy. 16-year-old boy identified as Eric Bonsu has drowned in River Pra at Sefwi Besibema, a farming community in Akontombra District on Sunday 30th May 2021. He was said to have gone to the river with some friends on Sunday at around 9:00 a.m. to swim but while swimming he friends realized he was getting drowned so they informed the father of the boy Eric Atta who tried to save his son.
