A sit-down strike by Commercial drivers across the country left commuters stranded at various bus terminals and the streets on Monday 6th December.

This strike comes following the astronomic increase in fuel prices in the country.
The GPRTU directed its members to embark on a sit-down strike after several calls on government to reduce the fuel prices by 5% failed.
GPRTU after four hours into the strike called on its members to call off the strike as the leadership have been called to the office of the Presidency for a dialogue on the way forward.
