Parliament Rejects 2022 Budget After NPP MPs Walked Out

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs walked out of Parliament on 26th November 2021 after a debate on the 2022 budget heated up making the Minority in Parliament to reject the budget.

The Speaker of Parliament after that asked non MPs to vacate the chamber.

The Majority in Parliament had earlier demanded that the General Secretary of the NDC leaves the chamber before they continue with the business of the House.

Mr. Asiedu did not grant their request and this made the majority furious leading to they staging a walkout.

The Speaker of Parliament suspended the sitting for few minutes after which they proceeded with the business of the day.

Meanwhile Parliament had earlier voted to rejected Ken Ofori-Atta’s request to speak with the leadership of the House before the voting begins.
