Last week the main focus of most headlines was on one Josephine Payin-Mensah who allegedly got kidnapped while still pregnant at Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana.
The woman was said to have gone for jogging when she allegedly got kidnapped by some men.
Many Ghanaians sympathized with the family and prayed that the victim will be rescued unhurt but turned out after further investigation by police that Josephine faked her pregnancy and kidnap.
This got many Ghanaians who prior to her confession of faking everything were sympathizing with her very angry and at the same time shocked.
One would wonder what could make a woman of her age to fake pregnancy and kidnap.
REAL REASON
According to Josephine her husband Michael Simmons has a strong desire for a baby and this made him treat her very well when she originally got pregnant but unfortunately had a miscarriage during the fourth month.
She said for fear of telling her husband about the news she hatch a plan with her mother to buy a silicon belly and pretend as though she was still pregnant.
According to a report sighted on Mynewsgh, Josephine tricked her husband by always concealing the silicon with a cloth whenever they get intimate.
She said throughout the nine month she made everyone around her to believe that she was indeed pregnant but she wasn’t.
She mentioned that she had planned the kidnap just to comeback and inform her husband that those who kidnapped her were ritualist who took her fresh baby from her.
Josephine’s plans didn’t work as she is currently in the grips of the Takoradi police command. Her husband is being investigated to find out if he is indeed a victim.
