Sad!! Arsenal Terminates Former Chelsea Star ‘Willian’s’ Contract Just After 1-Year Stay At The Club

Latest report gathered by Pinaxnews.com indicates that Arsenal have affirmed that the club have on mutual terms ended Willian’s agreement after just 1-year stay at the club.

Willian joined Mikel Arteta’s side on a free transfer the previous summer yet struggled in 2020-21 season, scoring just a single goal in 37 appearances.

The Gunners have been hoping to offload Willian this late spring and Corinthians have been keen on finishing his Arsenal drama. However, his wages, accepted to be more than £220,000 each week was one of the disappointing issues in during the negotiations.

The ex Chelsea star is currently set to finish a move back to his local Brazil after agreeing to end the two years left on his contract, saving the club around £20million in payout.

Wilian has effectively concurred an agreement with Corinthians to keep him attached to the Brazilian club until 2023, and desires to compel his direction back into the national team ahead of the following year’s World Cup.

This is what Arsenal had to say in a statement;

”We have reached a mutual agreement with Willian to terminate his contract effective from today. The Brazil international joined us from Chelsea last August and made 38 appearances during the 2020/221 campaign.

He had two more years to run on his contract but following positive and contructive recent discussions with him and his team, he will be leaving for a new opportunity with Corinthians in Brazil, where he began his career.

Everyone at Arsenal wishes Willian and his family well for the future”.
