Transport Unions Threaten An Increase In Fares If Government Reviews Road Tolls Upwards

Transport Unions in Ghana have threatened to increase fares exponentially if government of the day still goes ahead to review road tolls upwards.

The General Secretary of GPRTU, Godfred Abulbire has said that government is insensitive to the plight of drivers in Ghana and the proposed 500 percent increase in road tolls is a clear evidence of that.

He made this comment while speaking to GBC news.

Meanwhile Atibie Nursing and Midwifery Training College’s Nursing trainees, teaching and non-teaching staff are currently living in fear owing to the incessant robberies in their dormitories as well as residence.

The school which is located in the Kwahu South Municipality of the Eastern Region have reportedly recorded six cases of robbery in less than six months in 2021.

The recent robbery recorded was on Wednesday 14th July 2021 which led to students cutting lectures on Thursday noting that it threw them into total confusion.
