A latest report gathered by our outfit indicates that the Multimedia Group has documented a conventional grievance with the Ashanti Regional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service and replicated remarkable characters including the Asantehene, the Chief of Staff and Speaker of Parliament over the new threats issued against its staff, Erastus Asare Donkor, by no other person than the Member of Parliament for Assin Central Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
As per the report, the threats were said to have been given by Member of Parliament on his Net 2 Television on Friday, July 9.
As per the appeal dated July 13, 2021, Mr Agyapong, who is likewise the Chairman of Parliament’s Defense and Interior Committee, called for “serious” of the above mentioned staff.
He is cited as saying were he the President of Ghana, he would have guaranteed that the Ashanti Region reporter of Multimedia Group is beaten cruelly.
Every one of these is in association with Mr Asare Donkor’s reportage on the Ejura unrests on Tuesday, June 29 and his appearance on the 3-member ministerial committee.
The petition has additionally been sent to New York-based Human Rights Watch and Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) in Washington DC.
