Major (Rtd) Osahene Boakye-Djan has brought the Nana Addo led administration’s Free SHS policy to scrutiny, describing it as a Sham that is yielding no fruitful results for the country.
He says he comes to the conclusion that the Free SHS initiatives is a ‘Sham’ because the government is busily educating the citizens into joblessness, owing to the unemployment canker in the country which was still a problem before the Free SHS was introduced.
He stressed that what will become of the many students which the Free SHS is producing but won’t be able to further to the tertiary level because of financial constraint when there no jobs to contain such people.
Major (Rtd) noted that the Free SHS apart from being a ‘sham’ is dangerous too because in five years from now the initiative would have produced a lot of people who would be roaming the street and lost in the job market as well as become a burden on their parents despite being educated.
He made this comment while speaking on Onua TV on 13th July 2021 on the 100 Degree progrmme.
Free SHS is a sham, you know why? because you are educating people freely into joblessness. A part from a few who go to tertiary after SHS, what will happen to the rest of them? its a sham in fact, its a danger, after five years time multiplied by the number of people who turn out this year.
There will be a backlog of people who would roaming around freely, whom the parents have lost to the job market, who wouldn’t even go to the farm with their parents.
