President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has said that his government is committed to treating bandits in the language they understand best and this will enable an improvement in Nigeria’s poor security situation.
Recall that not long ago the President made this same comment while addressing constant attacks meted on INEC and its executives. His comment didn’t sit well with a number of Nigerians who resorted to throwing fresh missiles at the President.
The President doesn’t seem too be remorseful over his earlier comment as he has reiterated it in a recent interview with Arise TV on Thursday June 10.
Attracting criticisms from man Nigerians over his comment didn’t end there because twitter also took off his comment in a tweet.
“Problem in the North-West; you have people over there stealing each other’s cattle and burning each other’s villages. Like I said, we are going to treat them in the language they understand. We have given the police and the military the power to be ruthless. You watch it in a few weeks’ time there will be difference,” the President said.
”Because we told them if we keep people away from their farm, we are going to starve. And the government can’t control the public. If you allow hunger, the government is going to be in trouble and we don’t want to be in trouble. We are already in enough trouble. So we warn them sooner than later you’ll see the difference”, Buhari added.
