The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said that despite being in a different party he and Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie well known as Sir John were very close friends.
Speaking with UTV while seated at Sir Johns funeral which was held on Thursday June 3, 2021, he mentioned that they both became friends around 1997-1998 and they have been friends till his demise.
Asiedu Nketia noted that Sir John didn’t believe in being at logger heads with others because of politics and that is how come they both became friends because he also believed in that ideology.
He added that the late General Secretary of the NPP was a good person who showed him much love and affection at the time he lost his mother and needed consolation the most.
