Days ago, Human Right Division of the High Court in Accra ordered Achimota School to admit two Rasta students, Tyron Marhguy and Oheneba Kwaku Nkrabea after it ruled in their favour.
In a ruling on Monday afternoon, the court presided over by Justice Gifty Adjei Addo held that failure to admit the two students because of their dreadlocks, which is a manifestation of their religious rights violates their right to education as Ghanaian citizens.
Despite the court’s order, the board of Achimota school have reacted to the court’s ruling and have said that they disagree with it hence will appeal the ruling.
Some Ghanaians have reacted to the news in shock as they can’t fathom why Achimota doesn’t want to admit the Rasta students at all cost.
Achimota School made it stand public via a press statement.
