During the early hours of Wednesday 7th July 2021 Haiti's President Jovenel Moïse was attacked in his home at the outskirts of the capital Port-au-Prince by unknown persons. In a statement made by Prime Minister Claude Joseph, the President's wife, Martine Moïse was also shot in the attack.
