The Vice President of Ghana Dr. Bawumia is set to address Ghanaians on the country’s decision to return to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on 14th July 2022.
This was revealed by a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Gabby Otchere Darko.
According to him the Vice President will be making the statement during the launch of the collaboration between Accra Business School snd South East Technological University, Ireland.
Reports say the event is expected to take place in Accra.
The address of the Veep comes following criticisms that has been directed at the government since the announcement of Ghana’s decision to return to IMF was made.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Information, the President of Ghana had authorized the Finance Minister to engage the Fund for financial bailout.
Meanwhile the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said that the Bank of Ghana (BoG) needs &3 billion to shore up its buffer out of which he says $1 billion is already available.
