Chief Inspector James Tey who is the station Officer at Osiem Police Station in the Eastern Region of Ghana has died in a ghastly accident at Akuse with his wife.
The accident was said to have occurred near the Government Hospital at Akuse, eye witnesses say the vehicle was found in a cannel after the incident.
Police investigators who rushed to the scene reported that upon reaching the scene they found a Nissan salon car with registration number GR 7365-10 in a nearby channel filled with water.
The accident car was pulled out immediately and the lifeless bodies also brought out with the help of Volta River Authority (VRA) and the Fire Service.
Reports indicates that a personal Diary and a handcuff were found in the accident car and after checking it turned out that the male deceased was Chief Inspector Tey and the female was his wife.
Their mortal remains have been deposited at Akuse Government Hospital Morgue.
