The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu has called on Ghanaians to ignore all the noise from the National Democratic Congress regarding the E-Levy introduced to compensate the abolished toll collection.
He strongly believe that the NDC despite all the noise they are making today will never cancel the E-Levy should they assume office in 2024.
According to him one will expect the NDC to scrap the E-Levy off should they win power in 2024 but they will rather increase i.
“When we were bringing the ‘Talk Tax’, they kicked against it. They demonstrated against it but at the end of the day when they came to power, they didn’t remove it. They rather increased it because it was an innovative way of raising revenue,” he said while speaking in an interview on Citi News.
This comes following calls from the NDC MPs on government to scrap off the E-Levy.
Mr. Adongo noted that the NDC will never vote in favour of the E-Levy.
