Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko has declared his intention to contest the NPP 2024 flagbearer race stating that he is competent enough to lead the party in the 2024 election and subsequently break the 8-year rotation of government between the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress.
He noted that he is fit for purpose and that has influenced his decision to run the race.
Speaking on Kumasi based OTEC FM’s show titled ‘Nyansapo’ on Thursday 28th October 2021, he made his intention of running the Presidential race at the party levels.
He mentioned that he has enough experience and qualities to break the 8-year rotation government between the NDC and NPP.
Speaking to the host Captain Koda, he disclosed that he left his base in the US to come back to Ghana because he wanted to contribute to the development of the nation.
“It was the presidential race of 2007 that brought me back from the US. I left the US to participate in our politics and in fact, I was a participant in our politics before the unfortunate incident of June 1983 sent me into exile. I was in exile for 18 years. I never quit politics and will never quit politics because public service is my first passion. When the time comes, it shall be made known,” he stated.
