A private legal practitioner, Justice Abdulai has said that the Ghana Police arresting the founder and leader of New Life Kingdom Chapel Stephen Kwesi Appiah well known as Jesus Ahuofe on Tuesday 19th October in connection with a doom prophecy he made about Shatta Wale is appropriate.
He noted that this is a great step into minimizing such prophecies made by certain men of God in the country.
Justice Abdulai further mentioned that if men of God continue to make such prophecies it may manifest because some followers and lovers of the pastor may act on it to make the man of God look powerful.
He made this comment while sharing his thought on the arrest of Jesus Ahuofe on the 3FM Sunrise show.
“Somebody can meet you or shoot you in an attempt to make the pastor look good. If this is prosecuted, it will go a long way to minimize the amount of prophecies that are prophesized on people. They would attempt to eliminate such people to make the pastor look good so it is good to attempt to prosecute some of these pastors,” he said.
“Because it is a criminal case, you can’t rely on assumptions. The police would have to prove beyond doubt so this is relatively difficult because of the circumstance”.
“He had that small room of liability if pushed to the wall but it’s a potentially difficult case but it will be good if they attempt to prosecute him. Not because the police may be successful”, Justice Abdulai stated.
Meanwhile Jesus Ahuofe was denied bail after his arrest yesterday.
