Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, aspirant presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party, has claimed that ever since he came to Ghana from abroad in the year 2000 and ran for the position of member of parliament, he never imagined he would run for president one day.
He said in his address that over the years, after seeing things in the legislature, he noticed that committee members’ comments weren’t taken into account because they were just regular MPs.“I have spoken and expressed my view on a lot of issues, but all have fallen on deaf ears,” he opined.
He went on to explain that he feels God has endowed him with many ideas and desires that would aid in Ghana’s advancement and development and that he must rise and take up the mantle or else he will fail Ghanaians till death.
“I have decided that with my Knowledge and travel experience from other states and countries,Ghana can also be a better nation because God has given us brains just like the whites and other developed countries, so this time around I have burdened myself with steering the wheel rather than coaching”, he stated.
speaking on UTV’s Morning Show that he is prepared to see this contest through to the finish and that he will never withdraw his candidature for any candidate unless he is eliminated by the delegates; as a result, no one should accept the notion that he is making a concerted effort to switch his vote to any other contender.
Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential elections committee promises a free, fair, and transparent election as the super delegates conference for the NPP kicks off this weekend, August 26, 2023.
