The former Hearts of Oak player entered a not guilty plea in court before His Honor Samuel Bright Acquah on the allegation of defrauding by false pretense.
On January 8, 2021, George Boateng gave the aforementioned sum to Prince Tagoe, who confirmed receiving it over the phone.Tagoe made a commitment to deliver the car by the end of March, but he didn’t follow through. He then phoned Boateng and begged for an extra two weeks to fulfill the requirement, but he never did. Tagoe informed Boateng that he was unable to keep his word because he needed the cash to handle an urgent personal matter.
Tagoe confessed robbing Boateng of $40,000 throughout the inquiry, but he never paid.
Indictment and arraignment followed.
