Leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ras Mubarak has told Ghanaians not to re-register their sim cards again because no one can block them.
He stressed that the sim card re-registration is an illegal exercise and no Ghanaian’s number can be taken away from them when they do not take part in the exercise.
Speaking in a phone in session on Onua TV he noted that in Ghana’s constitution every citizen has the right to own property even if it is a needle it can’t be taken from it’s owner without just cause.
He mentioned that for that reason neither the National Communications Authority nor the Telecommunications networks have the right to block any number that doesn’t get re-registered.
“If you have not re-registered your sim, do not waste your time. Neither the NCA nor the Telecos can block your SIM after 31st March. The re-registration is an affront to our constitution”, he said.
Meanwhile the President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has asked Ghanaians not to take part in the re-registration exercise.
