Ghanaian broadcast journalist, Captain Smart has on Friday 10th December 2021 bee granted a bail of hundred thousand Ghana cedis with one surety by a Circuit Court 7 in Accra.
This comes after the ace journalist pleaded not guilty to charge of offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (ACT 29) which was leveled against him by the Ghana Police Service.
Captain Smart’s case has been adjourned to January 11, 2022 but he will be expected to report himself to the police station every Tuesday and Friday.
Recall that on Thursday 2nd December 2021 the award winning journalist got arrested by the police and sent to Nima Police station.
According to a statement by the Police he was arrested for making unsavory pronouncements that hinge on Peace and Security of Ghana.
The police further said that the host of the Onua TV show host has been cautioned on the offence of offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace as provided under section 207 of the Criminal Act, 1960 (Act 29).
