The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare arrested a careless V8 driver on the Kumasi-Accra Highway on Sunday 28th November 2021.
According to Police at Kibi Division the IGP was traveling from Anyinam side towards Accra. Upon getting to Akim Nsutam on the Accra-Kumasi Highway, the driver Toyota Land Cruiser V8 with registration number GB 3729-20 failed to observe traffic ahead while he the IGP and other drivers were observing the traffic on the road.
The driver Danso Gilbert Tweneboah aged 29 who had one person on board the car drove through the opposite lane forcing cars using that lane unto the shoulders of the road.
The IGP pursued him and arrested him. The IGP further handed him over to the Kibi District Commander and was subsequently handed over to the Divisional MTTD of Kibi to assist investigation
The driver is in police custody assisting investigation.
