The Communication Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Yaw Buaben Asamoah has said that President Nana Akufo-Addo will never in his life deliberately denigrate a chief in public.
He says because the President will not deliberately denigrate any chief in public there is no need for the President to apologize to Torgbui Fiti over his controversial response.
The Chief had called on government to complete the Community Day School in his area that had been abandoned since 2016 within four months.
The President reacting to the chief’s call asked him (Chief) to amass resources himself and complete the project if he feels he is tired of government’s pace.
This sparked massive debate with many people from the Volta Region especially MP’s calling on the President to apologize to the Chief over his response.
Mr. Yaw Buaben in an interview with Nana Aba Anamoah on Starr Chat Wednesday stated emphatically that he doesn’t see any need for the President to apologize to the Aflao Chief adding that government had invested much in education particularly Secondary Schools.
“I don’t think President Akufo-Addo will deliberately denigrate a chief in public. That’s why I don’t think there is a need for an apology. I don’t think the President should apologize. Perhaps the questioner put it in a way that made it look like an ultimatum. I don’t think the President will insult a chief on radio”, he told Nana Aba.
“This is not an arrogant posture. The President listens. We have nine brand new secondary schools ongoing. We have put existing secondary schools across the country with over 500 structures,” he added.
