COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare was sworn in at the Inspector General of Police in Ghana by the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo.
He was sworn in at the seat of government, Jubilee House of 8th October 2021.
At the swearing in ceremony the President said that Dr. Dampare has demonstrated that he will be an effective leader.
“He has demonstrated he will be an effective leader of the Police,” the President stated.
“We have a worthy successor to Mr Oppong-Buanoh (the immediate past IGP) and the others who have gone before him.”
“Government will do its best to assist you,” Nana Addo added.
Senior Vice President of Imani Africa Kofi Bentil has taken to social media to congratulate Dampare for his swearing in.
”Congratulations Dr. DAMPARE. There are very few times when so many are so sure about a choice!!I have no doubt you are the best amongst all 30 million of us for this job. God help you and make you wildly successful”, he wrote on Facebook.
Apparently Mr. Bentil is convinced that Dampare is the best man for the job.
