Staunch member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ama Benyiwa Doe has passed on at age 71.

The politician who is from Gomoa West in the Central Region was formally named Comfort Saah by her parents but got the name changed along the line.
Under late Evans Atta Mills Ama Benyiwa Doe was well known for defending the NDC in the media.
She was a loyal member of the NDC who fought for the party until her last breath.
