A head-on collision involving a Sprinter bus and a taxi has claimed the life of one person with four others severally injured.
The accident which claimed the life of one person occurred on the Wenchi-Techiman Highway located in the Bono Region.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kofi Oduro Amponsah who spoke with Radio West Africa stated that his outfit had a call that an accident had occurred on the Wenchi-Techiman highway which is after the Nkonsia police barrier.
The incident occurred around 6:00pm on Tuesday.
Mr. Oduro detailing how the accident occurred said that the Sprinter bus which was traveling to Wa from Kumasi did a wrong overtaking which lead to the head-on.
”The Driver of the Sprinter bus which was heading towards Wa attempted to overtake leading to the head-on with the Opel Astra Taxi which was heading towards Techiman from Wenchi. Currently one person has lost his life whiles four others are battling for their lives”, DSP Kofi Oduro mentioned.
The four who were severally injured are currently seeking medical attention at Wenchi Methodist Hospital.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital morgue.
