A ghastly road accident that occurred on Accra Sogakope highway at around 6:30 PM on Tuesday, 3rd August 2021, has claimed the lives of three persons.
The three people were said to be in a tricycle locally called Aboboya and were plying the Accra-Sogakope highway but unfortunately an over-speeding vehicle crashed into the tricycle, killing all three on the spot.
The car which was plying from the Sogakope direction had the registration number GW 8151-18.
Reports indicates that the vehicle which collided in the tricycle was being driven by some custom officers at Dabala junction and were reportedly chasing another vehicle which was suspected to be smuggling some goods.
Eye witnesses in the area said some angry youths who witnessed the incident set the vehicle on fire and it took the military to restore calm in the area.
The mortal remains of the three have since been deposited at the Sogakope District Hospital.
