Ghana’s interior Minister Ambrose Dery has revealed that very soon bullet proof vest and helmets will be provided for police Officers for protection.
According to Ambrose, Efforts are currently been put in place to provide the Bulletproof vest, helmets as well as body Cam for all police officers across the country
This comes after a police officer was shot in the head during a robbery at James Town while he was guarding a Bullion Van.
Ambrose made this revelation known while speaking at the funeral of the late constable Emmanuel Osei, the police officer shot to death during the James Town robbery.
” Discussions are currently ongoing between the IGP and the banking system, and we are going to facilitate that to see how we ensure that the bankers and the police personnel are better protected than they are now”
