Popular Ghanaian lyricist and Highlife craftsman, Akwaboah has communicated his dismay after Shatta Wale expressed that Ghanaians have no genre of music representing us on the worldwide market relating to music.
Akwaboah’s remarks comes after Shatta Wale uncovered that Ghana has no genre whiles addressing his die-hard fans and the country as a whole.
Shatta Wale suggested that Ghanaian performers should recognize one genre that can be ascribed to all music works from Ghana and Africa. He said that this will go far to give the Ghanaian music industry the worldwide consideration we have always wanted.
In response to that, Akwaboah disclosed that he felt disrespected when the dancehall craftsman offered this expression in light of the fact that, since the start of music in Ghana, Highlife has consistently dominated all music works in the country. He said Shatta Wale has affronted the semblance of himself, Kumi Guitar, Dada Hafco, Bisa K’Dei, just to mention a few for making such proclamations.
