378 suspects comprising of 24 females and 354 males have been arrested by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command from their various hideouts.
This comes after the police carried out a one week operation started on 13th July to 19 July as part of the police’s way of ensuring a sound environment for the Eid-ul Adha celebration.
Head of Public Relations Affairs unit of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, Mrs. Effia Tenge disclosed that the operation was carried out all the Division and District Commands.
Sowutuom, Kwabenya, Osu, Kotobabi, Airport, Dansoman, Oyibi, Mamprobi, Abokobi, Ayi Mensah, Darkuman, Cantoments, Kaneshie, Korle bu, Kokrobite, Adenta, Tesano, Legon and Nungua are the areas she mentioned were the targeted areas.
She further said the suspects fall within the ages of 19 and 57. Items such as died leaves suspected to be marijuana, 33 motorbikes, liquid substances laced with marcotics, laptops, mobile phones, knives and cutlasses were retrived from the suspects.
Some of the suspects have been detained for screening and those found culpable will be arraigned before court.
