Some NPP supporters in the Ashanti Region are rooting behind the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Alan Kyeremanten despite initial rumours that many of the party’s members wanted the Vice President Dr. Bawumia to lead the party.
A banner sighted has the inscription ‘No Alan No Vote, Asanteman Akasa’, since the Ashanti region happens to be the bank of votes for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) it clearly means that aside from the Trade Minister they are voting for no one else.
At the funeral of the late mother of Hon. Asenso Boakye the youth wing of the party confirmed that the voters in Ashanti region are hoping to see Alan as the leader of the party in 2024 so they can vote massively.
Some NPP supporters in the Ashanti region saw Allan Kyeremanten and began cheering him on saying ”Alan nie osono nie”, ”yenim no firi tete”, ‘he’s our own; its our turn”.
This support from the grassroot will clearly put the Trade Minister ahead of others who might be eyeing the candidacy position.
