Veteran Ghanaian singer, Dorcas Opoku Dakwa, prevalently known as Abrewa Nana, is a Ghanaian artist, lyricist, artist, and previous Idol series, judge. Abrewa Nana was brought into the world on the third of December 1980.
Abrewa Nana happens to be one of the main female performers who bounced on the hip-hop and the rap game.
Abrewa which in a real sense signifies “Old Woman” was received by the craftsman as her stage name halfway in light of the fact that she had been named after her grandma. Following the account of her demo, Abrewa Nana turned into a top pick among radio DJs, and her cooperation with Sass Squad Tuma got tremendous airplay. In any case, it was her first album ”Sagoa” which was delivered in 2000 that dispatched her to popularity.
She procured three designations at the Ghana Music Awards for Female Artist of the Year, Rap Song of the Year, and New Artist of the Year. In 2001, Nana won an honor for hiplife Song of the Year and was named Best Female Vocalist in 2002.
That very year, Nana delivered her second album ”African Girl” and guess what, she was also given the Best Female Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards UK the next year. Her third album ”Maba” continued in 2004.
