The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is knocking on the doors of Ghanaian youth and urging them to join them as they march on 6th July 2021.
The demonstration which comes off on Tuesday 6th July is dubbed ‘March For Justice’.
According to the General Secretary of the NDC, John Asiedu Nketia in a statement, the Demonstration is meant to raise awareness about the insecurity and lawlessness in the country in a bid to wake Nana Akufo-Addo from his slumber to act accordingly.
The statement by the party’s General Security further said the demonstration will remind the president of his obligations in the area of public safety and security as well as draw his attention to the public’s loss of confidence in those who occupy top positions in some security agencies.
He stressed that the NDC also want to alert the President that Ghanaians have had enough of ‘state-sponsored’ brutalities and harassments meted on innocent and peace loving Ghanaians.
The party’s General Secretary revealed that the party is alarmed and appalled at the spate of ‘state-sponsored’ brutalities under Nana Addo’s government.
Speaking on brutalities in the country Asiedu Nketia cited Ayawaso West-Wuogon bye-eletion in 2019, Techiman South electoral violence in 2020 and Ejura shooting in 2021 as typical examples of brutalities under Nana Addo’s government.
