A young man has been shot dead by his companion at Akuapem-Apiredi in the Eastern Region following an encounter over a Ghc5 obligation he owes him.
The deceased who has since been identified as Ben doubles as a drinking spot administrator, was shot twice on his chest by Kwame Dankwa, a 50-year-old hunter who had stood up to him to pay the debt he owes him.
Ben was accounted for to have declined to pay his lender, a circumstance which rankled Kwame to pull out a locally made firearm and fired him.
An occupant of the town, Kwabena Ofori disclosed that, the deceased was declared dead on arrival at the Tetteh Quarshie memorial emergency clinic in Akuapem-Mampong. In the mean time, the suspect has escaped to an obscure area when inhabitants endeavored to arrest him.
